About Surprise Valley Finches
Founded in 2015, Surprise Valley Finches began with just one male and one female green-back Gouldian Finch. After several successful clutches, we expanded our flock and have been passionately breeding ever since.
Our Birds
Our birds are:
Healthy, active, and excellent fliers
Housed indoors in a bright solarium with abundant sunlight and views of local wildlife
Occasionally taken outdoors for sun rays and fresh air
They sing throughout the day and have even started to mimic the whistles we share with them daily.
🌿 Environment & Enrichment
We believe in providing a natural, enriched environment:
Birds are not confined to small cages
We use a custom-built flight cage with plenty of room to fly
Local manzanita branches and live plants offer perching and stimulation
Filtered air supports clean, healthy breathing
Food is scattered at various levels, encouraging natural foraging behavior

Gouldian-specific seed mix
Fresh greens, millet spray, eggshells, and protein supplements
Daily vitamins added to fresh water

📦 Shipping Rates (Per 6 Birds or Fewer)
Continental U.S. (excluding Nevada): $135
Within Nevada: $80
Birds are not shipped alone – they require company.
🚚 Shipping Schedule
We ship on the earliest Monday after payment is received (weather permitting).
Buyer must be available to accept the birds upon arrival.
Birds are shipped in groups only (no singles).

We guarantee that your birds will arrive alive. If any birds arrive deceased:
Contact us within 2 hours of pickup.

Failure to pick up birds upon arrival at the post office voids all guarantees and is considered neglect by the buyer.
